Settling Down
The way things are going so far are smooth. My family life is stable and we are planning to move somewhere more fit. Immigration is something you won't be able to understand unless you go through it yourself. Leaving a country in search of more freedom is a concept that seems to be hard for many people to grasp.
I've learned that even though we've been through so much, the best I can do is be grateful. If we were still in Belarus, I wouldn't have met the most important people in my life, my mom wouldn't have been able to receive treatment for her breast cancer, and I wouldn't be met with so many opportunities for growth.
Traveling back during the summer of 2016 was an out-of-body experience. I saw the life I could be living. But I'm past it. I'm craving more than Belarus can give me.
Settling down and reaching higher education is my goal, along with building financial stability. I love the memories and deep history I have in Belarus, but doors close and others open.
