Introduction

Since life started for me, things have been consistently changing, challenges continue to arise, and I have to learn to accept the past. My family's story of immigration began in the early 2000s. The world was changing quickly and not everyone liked it. The country me and my family were born in, Belarus, was also shifting.

Many laws were beginning to be put in place, throwing off everyone's way of life. A number of them were in relation to religion and ideologies that weren't fit for the time period. A burst of progressive religious freedom seemed to be taking place in lots of countries, and these laws were a step back.
